Nikolaev is a city on junction of channels of 2 river Ingul and Yuzhny Bug in the South of Ukraine.
Prince Grigory Potemkin Tavricheskiy laid the foundation of Nikolaev in 1789.
Nikolaev was the cradle of the Black Sea fleet, and one of the centers of shipbuilding of Russia, and then of the Soviet Union.
